1952 Gibson Les Paul

Black Magic Vintage is pleased to offer a sweet 1952 Gibson Les Paul with the coveted stop-tail mod.
 
It's no secret that the first iteration of the Les Paul with the trapeze tailpiece is not the best from a players perspective. The wrap which came next is great but is also somewhat limited and definitely not for everyone. The ABR-1 & stop tail set up is what were all accustom to and honestly the set up that simply works "best".
 
This guitar has an incredible vibe, feels great in the hand and sounds glorious. It is incredibly lightweight at 8 lbs 4oz. The neck is full but not too big, measuring .91 - .98 with very soft shoulders. A fantastic neck that measures and feels no different than those late 58's or early 59's. The p90's are clear, articulate and can get NASTY! Like we'd expect from a golden era instrument. They measure 7.1 N and 7.4 B respectfully.
 
This Les Paul did not receive a neck reset, a slightly shaved 50's bridge accommodates perfect action with a great slinky feel; this one is super easy to play. The newer refret ensures it plays well up and down the board. The face of this guitar was refinished by Eric Ernest back in the 90's, it has aged nicely and glows like lacquer of this age should. The back finish is completely original with patina only time can provide. Aside from one cap changed, the frets and the added bridge/stop all the rest of the parts & case remain original or at least period correct to the guitar.
