1952 Gibson Les Paul THE OWL

Black Magic Vintage is pleased to offer an incredible 1952 Gibson PAF conversion formerly of our dear friend Mark Morton of Lamb of God!
 
A few years back we purchased a sweet 52 that was previously converted by Jim @ Jam city back in 2014. The guitar had a proper neck reset, was plugged and routed for PAF's, ABR & Stop put in the right place, etc. If you know conversions Jim is THE best.
The face of the guitar was previously refinished in an ok looking gold when we purchased it. The entire back, neck and face of the headstock had and still has the original finish. Mark was looking for a good chopper and this guitar would end up being something he could customize and make his own. We set Mark up with some vintage parts and sent it off to Joe Riggio. Riggio stripped the face only (again the rest of the guitar is original) and resprayed it in killer tobacco burst and the Owl, as Mark refers to it was born!
This 1952 conversion is loaded with vintage parts... 
- non wire ABR-1 with OG saddles
- Stop tailpiece
- set of "short mag" PAF's
- 50's "Bonnet" aka Burst knobs
- truss cover & back plates & guard (cut)
 
While "the Owl" was primarily a personal guitar it did make it out on tour with Lamb & Pantera, signed photos included. Mark has included some killer accoutrement with this package. Signed pack of strings, picks, signed photos, signed case and his signature pickups (zebras in the pics) will also be included.
 
The guitar itself is incredibly resonant and weighs a wonderful 8 lbs 8oz. The PAF's sound killer with a lot of attack and focus, Mark spent time finding this set. They measure 7.75N & 7.95 B respectively. The neck is a perfect med with soft shoulders, it measures .89 @ 1st & .97 @ 12th.
 
This is a killer 50's chopper on its own, great provenance, the hands involved and Marks blessing this is really one hell of a package! The next caretaker is gonna be F'n stoked!
