1953 Gibson Les Paul Refin
BMVG's is pleased to offer a killer little 1953 Les Paul Standard!
This instrument was mostly refinished some time back in striking all gold, original paint remains in all the cavities and the headstock face. The original serial number was re-inked at that time. The pots, harness & p90's remain in tact, less one of the volume pots which needed replacing but is included in the case. The pots all date to the 20th week of 1953 and maintain their grey tiger caps. The p90's are full and strong and read 7.7 N & 7.5 B. The original frets are lower but still play well up and down the board.
The truss cover, knobs, pick guard, bracket and jack plate are all original. 5 of the original tuners remain with one being modern replacement. This instrument was fitted with other tuners at one time in its history. This Les Paul weighs just over 9 lbs and has a nice full neck measuring .89 - .96 with subtle shoulders. The wrap around tailpiece is a mojo axe for better playability and geometry.
All in all this is a great player friendly 50's wrap tail that you can take out and gig! A modern but very convincingly aged Gibson Lifton case accompanies the guitar and is certain to keep it safe!
