1957 Gibson Les Paul

BMVG's is pleased to offer a drop dead gorgeous & absolutely monstrous 1957 Gibson Les Paul Burst "conversion".

We discovered this instrument just about two years ago now from its 30+ year owner. It was routed and refinished YEARS ago. He said "I could see the flame jumping out from under the gold". We have indeed seen that on many old gold tops but good lord this top is near perfect! The seam is 1/8th inch to the bass side...

When we acquired the guitar, the finish was your typical 80's/90's job, ok but certainly not great and definitely not worthy of this epic instrument. We posted it to our IG and a client jumped on it. We arranged for the guitar to be sent to Joe Riggio of Riggio guitars for a proper nitro refin in a stunning faded "un"burst. Our client chose to keep it clean and allow it to age naturally, a somewhat bold and welcome choice in todays world of overdone relic's.

This Les Paul started life as a 1957 P90 equipped dark back. The original dark back paint remains in the cavities and glows; see pic. The original serial number which stayed with the guitar was ultimately restamped.

The headstock face; logo, silk screen & paint is original.

On to the good stuff! -

The harness, tuners, truss cover, knobs, guard (recut), ABR-1, tailpiece, studs, etc are all original to the guitar or at the very least correct for 1957. The pickups were hand selected by me and are from 1959 a zebra & double white, an absolutely perfect set. The rings and jack plate are repro. The case was upgraded to a 5 latch.

The neck measures .88 @ 1st & .98 @ 12th. The PAF's read 7.88 N & 8.32 B & the guitar weighs 8 lbs 9oz. EPIC!!!

People throw this out there all the time BUT this really is as close to an actual Burst as one can hope to get in this price point, its after all a 1957 Les Paul.
