Dumble Park
BMVG's is pleased to offer a holy grail, one of one, custom built from the ground up Dumble 100 watt amplifier head with some incredible provenance and fully documented history!
Back in 2012 Jason Mozersky, former guitarist for Ben Harper commissioned an amp build from the legendary Howard Alexander Dumble. Jason gave Mr. Dumble this old Park amplifier to use as the basis for his build. Mr. Dumble redesigned and customized this amp to Jason's specs including adding what Dumble would refer to as his "Purple Haze" mod. Dumble put a lot of time and effort into this build and was very proud of the end result. I have personally spoken with Jason about this amplifier.
Time passed and Jason sold his beloved amplifier through CME. A shipping label with Jasons name and CME's dets remains on the flight case. I have also had a chat with Andrew from CME about this amp at a guitar show semi-recently, everyone who has experienced this amplifier remembers it.
The amplifier ultimately changed from very capable hands to VERY capable hands and ended up in the arsenal of the Carlos Santana. We purchased the amp from Mr. Santana and were given a letter from his management verifying that Mr. Santana used this Park amp on stage and in studio as part of his personal collection, the letter is included. The amp settings (red marker) and blue tape (inputs) are from Mr. Santana.
Our dear friend and caretaker of the Dumble Brand, Drew Berlin also gave us a letter of inspection and appraisal on this amp. Drew told us some great stories from when this amp was originally on the bench being built and he inspected & verified it for Carlos before he purchased it. Lastly Drew reiterated that this is one of only two Park amplifiers that Howard rebuilt (per Dumble's personal ledger) and one of one as a 100W head that also happened to be custom built for an artist.
This amplifier is a significant piece of Dumble history.
It is 100w of sonic bliss (EL34's if you're curious) with tremendous headroom. It exudes all of the qualities you expect from a Dumble amp. It's powerful, incredibly articulate, completely 3D and has overtones that bring a chill to your skin and smile to your face while you're in the room. It also takes pedals extremely well.
We own (were gifted) the handwritten original schematic on this amplifier (see photo) they are not included for obvious and not so obvious reasons. I am willing to photocopy a portion of it to make this already incredible package that much more complete.
